Ishido Ratings

  • This page covers policy and procedure for the Ishido Performance Review and Rating System
  • Ishido ratings allow all Ishidos within Lifebushido to rate their peers, team leaders, mentors, mentees, and anyone they work with regularly.
  • In lieu of formal reviews that only happen yearly, the Ishido Rating system provides an ongoing, dynamic tool to review performance on a monthly basis.
  • Similar to a 360 Review, the Ishido Rating system is designed to allow anyone who works with an Ishido, in any capacity, to rate that Ishido based on their personal experience.
  • Ratings should take into consideration quality of work, responsiveness, teamwork, dedication to the Bushido Code and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Ratings are confidential. Only Steve can see ratings and comments.
  • Steve uses these ratings for an overall big picture.
  • If an Ishido would like to know their overall rating, they can contact Steve. He will review with you and let you know what you can do to improve ratings if needed.
  • Every Ishido should rate other Ishidos they have worked directly with EVERY month.
  • Ishidos can rate anyone at any time, but Steve expects all ratings for the previous month to be added by the 2nd of the following month.
  • Remove anyone who is no longer with Lifebushido and add anyone new you are interacting with

Please follow these guidelines when choosing a rating:

  • 5 - Best of the Best
    • These are Ishidos who do exemplary work, and who are people you want to do more work with.
    • You would want this Ishido in your Circle.
    • You can only have three people rated as a 5.
    • Whoever the best 3 Ishidos are, you rate them as a 5.
  • 4 - Excelling Performance
    • These are Ishidos who are strong performers, responsive, and complete high quality work.
    • You would want to work on more projects with this Ishido or be part of a circle with this Ishido.
  • 3 - Average or Satisfactory Performance
    • These Ishidos do satisfactory-level work.
    • Ishidos with this rating do the job, but perhaps do not go to any additional effort, or the quality of work is just average.
    • Use 2 and 4 if you are on the edge of indifference one way or the other
    • If you are thinking someone is a 3 but questioning 2 or 3, make them a 2
    • If you want to work with them less make them a 2
    • If you are thinking someone is a 3 but questioning 3 or 4, make them a 4
    • If you want to work with them more make them a 4
  • 2 - Performance/Relationship Issues
    • These Ishidos may have inconsistent quality or persistent quality issues.
    • They may not follow directions effectively, do not respond to requests within company guidelines, or have trouble functioning in a team-based environment.
    • You would prefer to work less with this Ishido and do not want them in your Circle.
    • 1 - I Would Recommend Termination
    • Issues with this Ishido are disruptive to clients and teams.
    • The Ishido is violating Bushido Code/Core Values, quality of work is poor, does not function well as part of team or interacts in a negative way.

Ishido Rating YouTube Presentation

  • Only create 1 record per Ishido. If there is more than 1 record for a person, please delete all duplicate records.
  • Ratings can change from month to month. You will simply update the existing record for the Ishido as ratings change. For instance, you may rate an Ishido a 4 one month, and a 3 the next month, based on your recent interactions.
  • Rate everyone you come in contact with.
  • Changing an Ishido's rating is not a demotion or promotion! This is a big picture look and Steve is the only one who see's the ratings that you enter.
